Beim Dry Needling werden die krankhaft veränderten Anteile der Sehnen am äußeren Ellbogen punktiert. Mit einer speziellen Technik (mit oder ohne Ultraschall-Unterstützung) werden sie mehrfach durchstochen. Es werden dadurch kleine, gezielte Einblutungen erwirkt, die wiederum eine verstärkte Wundheilung und Regeneration der veränderten Sehne provozieren. Das Dry Needling regt also den Körper dazu an, den Defekt selbst zu heilen.
